Attacking Corporate Risk with Rembell Group so Risk Doesn’t Attack You
Kuala Lumpur October 2017 -Strategy & Risk Management by Rembell Group was another a paradigm changer for KL participants. The next in line of effective trainings, involving case studies, group exercises and endowment of relevant materials. Not to mention Liz Taylor’s efficiency in answering all questions asked not that one would expect less from the Europe-wide Risk Manager of the year, who chaired AIRMIC bringing it to corporate membership and initiated the set-up of Pool Re.
Liz Taylor an Author of ‘Practical Enterprise Risk Management; How to Optimize Business Strategies Through Managed Risk Taking’ facilitated the training and made it easy for them to follow with her step by step clear demonstrations as well as her multinational and multi industry hands-on experience at Operational and Board level specializing in encouraging organizations to take managed risk in order to innovate, grow and thrive.
The participants learned the link between risk and strategy, the use of RAROC & Economic Capital, measurement metrics & ROI, COSO & COCO approaches as well as the five lines of defense but more prominently risk appetite – hunger for risk taking vs. protection for the value in the organization. Despite the exhaustion at the end of day one, the session on the risk maturity models – how risk management supports strategy was an eye opener and the most engaging one.
Day two focused on defining business strategy and objectives, reporting and recording positive and negative risks to inform the strategy and leveraging positive risks against the negative. The best aspect noted and appreciated by all the participants was the ability to network and interact with one another, sharing knowledge with individuals from different industries.
